Becoming a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC) is increasingly recognised as a natural progression for experienced, accredited SEND mediators. As a PPC, you create reflective space for mediators and trainees helping them practise ethically, safely and with confidence, while drawing on your own SEND expertise, professional judgement and lived mediation experience.

Those who step into PPC roles often tell us that, alongside supporting others, they rediscover and stretch their own professional potential.
To be eligible, practitioners need to be fully accredited SEND mediators (for example through a recognised body such as the College of Mediators or CMC), with substantial and current SEND mediation experience, evidence of good practice (such as case logs and feedback), and an understanding of ethics, safeguarding and reflective practice. Training in supervision models and professional judgement is a key part of this development.
